Hosted by Downtown Phoenix Inc., Winter Wanderland transforms Downtown Phoenix into a holiday storybook setting with free holiday performances, colorful holiday lights and décor, delicious food, drinks and merriment. Multiple locations throughout Downtown Phoenix will participate in this free event on Saturday, Dec. 9, from 11:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Each activation is within walking distance from the next in sequential order, with holiday-centric performances at Chase Field, Arizona Center, Herberger Theater Center, the Rennaissance Phoenix Downtown Hotel, the Phoenix Convention Center, CityScape, and more. There are also dozens of restaurants, murals and other attractions along the way, making it easy to enjoy live performances, try new places, and discover a beautiful piece of public art – all in one day.
“We want our community to know that Downtown really is for everyone, and by activating some of our best cultural institutions and public spaces with holiday cheer and programming, we hope this continues to be a much-loved family tradition for years to come,” said Devney Majerle, Downtown Phoenix Inc.’s CEO and President.
Just a few of the activations attendees can expect include a holiday performances by Aerial artists at 201 E. Washington, a live muralist and interactive painting for children at the Arizona Center, a performance by the Peoria High School Band at the Herberger Theater Center, and a culinary demonstration at the Renaissance Hotel. The day will wrap up with PJs in the Park at Civic Space Park with a screening of two classic holiday movies, Merry Madagascar and Elf.
The full day of programming will kick off at a to-be-announced surprise location, and the first 100 people to arrive will have the chance to receive a free holiday tote bag. Themed holiday giveaways will be handed out at each participating location while supplies last.
