Cala Scottsdale, a popular mediterranean-inspired restaurant in the heart of Old Town Scottsdale, announced the appointment of Clinton Lomayma as its new Executive Chef. The move marks the passing of the baton to the new generation of the beloved establishment. With an impressive background in culinary arts and a passion for quality, Chef Clinton brings a fresh perspective to the esteemed kitchen.

“We are very excited and proud to announce the promotion of Clinton as Cala’s Executive Chef. He opened the restaurant with me as the Executive Sous Chef. He and I have spent the last seven years working together and I have the utmost confidence in his abilities to lead Cala’s kitchen,” said Director of Culinary Operations and Partner for Clive Collective, Beau MacMillan. “I am looking forward to the work he’ll do at Cala and for Clive and can’t wait to see him flex his culinary skills in his new role.”

With impressive experience in the Valley’s culinary scene and a passion for furthering his unique skills and creative talent, Chef Clinton was asked to open Cala Scottsdale with chefs Beau MacMillan and Peter McQuaid in 2022– both of whom have played a vital role in shaping his culinary expertise.

“I am honored for my new role as Executive Chef for Cala. My gratitude for Chef Beau is immeasurable and I am thrilled to continue working alongside him and the rest of the incredible Cala and Clive Collective staff,” said Chef Clinton. “I look forward to bringing my passion and creativity to Cala’s kitchen to craft a dining experience that celebrates local flavors and exemplifies the finest quality that the guests can expect to receive.”

Chef Clinton has been an instrumental part of the Clive Collective family since the opening of Cala in 2022 and continues to grow with the company following former Cala Executive Chef, Peter McQuaid’s move to The Americano and sister venue, Tell Your Friends- (Clive Collective’s newest concept with Creation Equity), also guided by the culinary expertise of Chef Beau. Under Chef Beau’s leadership, the team looks forward to these exciting changes and remains committed to delivering excellence to its guests.

As the baton is passed to Chef Clinton, he is motivated to mentor the junior chefs at Cala, much like Chef Beau did for him early in his career. Following this announcement, patrons can look forward to the same elevated menu, with exciting new options each season that blend Cala’s signature dishes with Chef Clinton’s exceptional style and culinary vision.
