The Arizona Diamondbacks will honor the heroes serving our community during AMR Public Safety Recognition Night tomorrow/Saturday, September 3, highlighted by $30,000 in donations by the Arizona Diamondbacks Foundation to the 100 Club of Arizona, PLEA Charities (Phoenix Law Enforcement Association) and United Phoenix Firefighters Charities. Each group will receive a $10,000 donation.
Fans purchasing the special event ticket at dbacks.com/publicsafetyday will receive a Challenge Coin, courtesy of AMR, and a portion of each ticket purchased through this offer will be donated to the 100 Club of Arizona.
The D-backs have donated 2,000 tickets to first responders through 1st Tix, which supports the brave individuals who answer emergency calls and aims to reduce stress, strengthen family bonds, create positive memories and encourage first responders to stay engaged with local communities and American life.
D-backs players will present jerseys to representatives from AMR, Chandler Fire, Chandler Police, Department of Public Safety, MCSO, Phoenix Fire, Phoenix Police, Salt River Fire, Salt River Police, Scottsdale Fire and Scottsdale Police during a pregame recognition.
Tyler Service, an Officer with the Chandler Police Department, will sing the National Anthem while Phoenix Fire and other agencies line up along the third-base line and the Phoenix Fire Honor Guard presents the colors.
Phoenix Fire and AMR will have their vehicles on display to fans on 4th Street prior to the game.
The various agencies will be set up around the ballpark to share information on fire safety, water safety, community programs and recruitment.
