The Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits is bringing core programming back in 2022.
The organization’s highly popular Business on Board program, Nonprofit Lifecycles Capacity Building Workshop and Social Return on Investment Workshop are being offered virtually beginning with Business on Board every Tuesday in February. Nonprofit Lifecycles Capacity Building and Social Return on Investment workshops will start in March.
The Alliance’s trusted leaders along with industry professionals will collaborate on these unique programs. Scholarships are available for all workshops and programs. Advance registration is required.
Business on Board is designed specifically for business professionals and community members interested in serving on a nonprofit board. A four-day virtual workshop (every Tuesday in February at 5pm) explains the roles, responsibilities and expectations involved with serving on a nonprofit board. Whether you are thinking about committing to board service, or already serve on a board, this workshop provides information to be an effective board member.
This course features speakers including Alliance of Arizona Nonprofits CEO Kristen Merrifield, Mary Tovella Dowling, (Tovella Dowling, PC) and John Scola (Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley – Arizona) covering roles such as legal, fiduciary and fundraising.
Tuesday, March 21: Nonprofit Lifecycles Capacity Building – An interactive, hands-on virtual workshop where organizational teams of 3 to 5 people will learn about the 7 Nonprofit Lifecycle Stages: Idea, Start-up, Growth, Maturity, Decline, Turnaround and Terminal. These stages will then be applied to a real-life nonprofit case study. Following a discussion about the case, teams will work together in collaboration with Nonprofit Lifecycle consultants to determine what stage their organization is currently in. This training will help nonprofits assess capacity imbalances throughout their organization and will help determine what areas should be focused on for growth.
Wednesday, April 20: Social Return on Investment – A transformative workshop for donors and funders to focus on evaluating investments based on outcomes, not just inputs and outputs. It is critically important that nonprofits understand how to effectively calculate and communicate the social return on investment (SROI) of their programs. When nonprofits know their outcomes (SROI), their storytelling comes to life AND their fundraising and grant writing rises to another level. Learn about social return on investment, review an example of how social return on investment can be used and calculate the social return on investment for one of your nonprofit’s programs.
