Tractor Supply Company, the largest rural lifestyle retail store chain in the United States, today announced plans to build a new distribution center in Casa Grande, Ariz.
“The addition of a new distribution center in the Southwest is key to our western expansion strategy,” said Greg Sandfort, president and chief executive officer. “Arizona’s proximity to our western stores provides an ideal location for our new facility, which will allow us to achieve lower transportation costs and faster delivery to our stores. Casa Grande has an excellent work force, and we appreciate the hard work of the local and state officials who assisted us through the process. Tractor Supply executives and local government officials held a ceremonial groundbreaking event today, November 17, at the Casa Grande distribution center site located in the Central Arizona Commerce Park. The facility is expected to begin operating in the fourth quarter of 2015 and will be approximately 650,000 square feet in size, with the potential tocreate more than 250 local jobs.
“The new Tractor Supply investment will bring needed jobs to the Casa Grande community,” said Barry Broome,president and CEO of the Greater Phoenix Economic Council. “This further bolsters the city’s position in building out a future industrial employment corridor, and we are excited to have them in the region.”
Tractor Supply Company’s new distribution center will have the potential to service approximately 250 stores in the Southwest region. Currently, the Company operates more than 1,360 stores in 49 states across the country.
