The town’s Shop Gilbert taskforce announced today the release of the third video in a series to remind residents of the opportunities for seeking medical facilities, products and services within the Town of Gilbert.
“The Town of Gilbert offers many exceptional health care options. Whether fighting cancer, conducting research, or serving patients, our Life Science, Bio-Med and health care organizations have some of the most advanced facilities in the country right here in Gilbert,” said Mayor John Lewis.
“In the past decade, Gilbert’s health care industry has made a name for itself as one of the most advanced and well-planned medical communities in the nation,” said Kathy Tilque, president and CEO of the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce. “This video will remind residents to first seek Gilbert-based medical facilities whenever possible.”
Last month, Mercy Gilbert Medical Center received the Distinguished Hospital Award for Clinical Excellence from Healthgrades and, in 2012, Banner Gateway Medical Center was named to U.S. News & World Report’s Best Hospital Ranking at No. 12.
“In addition to award-winning hospitals, Gilbert is home to medical practices, urgent cares, health clinics, pharmacies, and equipment suppliers,” Tilque said. “By staying in Gilbert for these services, residents will further contribute to our town’s tax base which, in turn, supports our beautiful community.”
The Shop Gilbert campaign includes four video segments with emphasis on different industries, all of which contribute to the town’s tax base. The videos were scripted by Tad Peelen, an owner of Joe’s Real BBQ and member of the Shop Gilbert taskforce, and were produced by Gilbert-based 4th Wall Productions.
This newly-released video will be aired on the Town’s government channel 11 and can be viewed on the Shop Gilbert website, www.ShopGilbertAz.com. The website includes a listing of Gilbert businesses currently enrolled as supporters of the Shop Gilbert initiative. Direct URL: http://youtu.be/w_Ttg-AO9ko
The Shop Gilbert campaign is a grassroots effort to encourage residents to put their money where their house is and keep tax dollars in Gilbert. Sales tax dollars are a critical revenue source of Gilbert. They fund ongoing daily operations including parks and recreation programs, public safety workshops, library materials, and more. Buying locally means sales tax dollars will continue to make Gilbert a great place to live, work, and play! Shop Gilbert is sponsored by the Town of Gilbert, The Gilbert Republic, and the Gilbert Chamber of Commerce.
