Owens Harkey Advertising announced today it is partnering with Wes Gullett and Bettina Nava to create a new entity affiliated with its marketing agency, OH Strategic Communications.
Matt Owens, CEO of Owens Harkey, stated that a new communications firm will launch on June 1 of 2015. “OH Strategic Communications will combine the immense talents and experience of Bettina Nava and Wes Gullett, two of our state’s best communications minds, with the marketing prowess, creative spark and national aspirations of Owens Harkey Advertising,” said Owens.
The new endeavor will provide strategic communications consulting, political campaign management, public relations and strategic planning for companies and public affairs projects in Arizona and throughout the U.S.
“We are excited about the endless possibilities of using our talents and experience in new markets and having the vast creative resources of Owens Harkey Advertising to provide world class communications products for our clients,” said Bettina Nava.
Owens Harkey is a full-service agency that leads marketing, advertising and public relations efforts for a wide variety of industries across the country. The agency caters to business-to-business and business-to-consumer companies with the following services available: public relations, social media, creative, video production, brand strategy and development, digital and traditional media buying and more.
Gullett and Nava have provided strategic communications services for a wide variety of clients at FirstStrategic, including leading the campaign efforts on successful statewide initiatives. Prior to joining FirstStrategic, Bettina Nava was the Southwest Regional Campaign Manager for Senator John McCain’s 2008 Presidential campaign. She worked as Senator McCain’s State Director and served in the Governor’s office.
Wes Gullett served as chief of staff to Arizona Governor Fife Symington and state director for Senator John McCain. He has spent nearly 20 years in the private sector creating successful businesses and serving on nonprofit boards and public commissions.
Sophie O’Keefe-Zelman and Crystal Bradley from FirstStrategic will also join the OH Strategic Communications team on June 1.
Since 2013, Owens Harkey has made each Inc. Magazine’s Inc. 500|5000 yearly list, which measures percentage revenue growth over a four-year period. In 2013, Inc. Magazine named Owens Harkey Advertising on its list of 500 fastest-growing private companies in the nation after the agency experienced a 931-percent growth. The agency remained on the Inc. 5000 list in 2014 and has gained national recognition for several creative campaigns since the company’s inception.

Bettina Nava and Wes Gullett are partners in the communications and public affairs firm FirstStrategic. Gullett was a founding partner of the firm more than 12 years ago and Nava joined the firm as a partner in 2009.
