Magellan Health, Inc. has announced that it has opened its new corporate headquarters in Scottsdale, Ariz. With the company’s growing presence in Arizona following the acquisition of Partners Rx, Magellan originally announced on April 29 that it would be moving its headquarters from Connecticut to Arizona.
“Magellan has had a long history in the State of Arizona, and with our acquisition of Partners Rx last year, we expect to grow our presence here,” said Barry M. Smith, chairman and chief executive officer. “I will be joined in Scottsdale by several of our senior leaders, as we seek to grow Magellan’s footprint in behavioral health, pharmacy benefit and specialty solutions management across the country.” Magellan Health, Inc. is a healthcare management company that focuses on fast-growing, complex and high-cost areas of healthcare, with an emphasis on special population management.
In addition to the headquarters, Magellan Rx Management, the company’s pharmacy offering – consisting of pharmacy benefit management, Medicaid pharmacy benefit administration, and specialty and medical pharmacy management – maintains a separate office in Scottsdale. NIA Magellan, the company’s specialty solutions business – which offers diagnostic imaging management services as well as programs that manage the evaluation and therapy associated with cardiology services, musculoskeletal management, radiation oncology, obstetrical ultrasounds, genetic testing and sleep management – also has employees in Arizona. Magellan will maintain its business operations in many current locations, including its former headquarters in Connecticut.
