GoDaddy Continues Global Expansion with Launch into 21 New Markets and 14 New Languages

GoDaddy April 29, 2014

GoDaddy, the world’s largest technology provider dedicated to small businesses, has announced its continued expansion into international markets. After beginning this international expansion fewer than two years ago and a recent successful release across Latin America, GoDaddy is now extending its offering more broadly across Europe.

With the announcement, GoDaddy is offering localized products and support in 14 new languages. New countries served with this expansion are Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Sweden, Switzerland, Turkey and Ukraine. GoDaddy established its presence earlier in Europe with support for United Kingdom, Ireland and Spain.

GoDaddy’s expanded global footprint offers products and support in 42 markets, 44 currencies and 17 languages. GoDaddy’s goal is to empower small businesses around the world. As part of this effort, the company recently hired new regional heads in EMEA(Europe, the Middle East and Africa) and LATAM(Latin America), developed a highly localized marketing and advertising presence, and is adapting appropriate products to international markets.

“GoDaddy is ‘turning the lights’ on for small businesses all across Europe. We believe small businesses are an economic driving force globally, which is why GoDaddy is committed to offering the individualized service and support necessary to empower those businesses for success,” said GoDaddy CEO Blake Irving. “In a single day, we turned on support for customers in 21 new markets. This release represents our continued commitment to support small businesses with a completely localized offering.”

This recent expansion comes on the heels of GoDaddy’s recent initiatives in Latin America, where localized offerings and services are now available in Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Colombia, Venezuela, Chile and Peru. This shift follows the continued evolution around Internet adoption, as the U.S. is now home to a mere 11 percent of the world’s online users.

Newly supported languages are French, Dutch, German, Italian, Russian, Turkish, Polish, Swedish, Portuguese, Norwegian, Danish, Finnish, Ukrainian and Greek. The combination of a complete localized offering and local language customer care represents a significant commitment — GoDaddy went beyond simple translation by localizing and customizing its offering to better serve small businesses in these local markets.

GoDaddy’s global expansion is driven by industry veteran James Carroll, who has delivered international platforms at Yahoo! and Microsoft. Carroll, who joined GoDaddy in March 2013, is leading the company’s effort to bring the company’s solutions and market presence to customers in 60 markets and 30 languages.
