Old-Town Scottsdale’s Derby Public House Launches Off-Track Betting

Derby House March 3, 2014

With the launch of Off-Track Betting on Sunday, March 9, Derby Public House will be one of only a few bars in Scottsdale to offer horseracing. A bastion of equestrian-themed nightlife, Derby Public House is placing its bets on the fun and exciting Sport of Kings to add something new to the Old Town nightlife scene. Off-Track Betting will be offered daily and is the perfect lunchtime or happy hour thrill. Sundays are a big day for the races, and to commemorate, Derby will offer $6 Bulleit Mint Juleps and $20 Mimosa Buckets for brunch and betting every week.

“We are thrilled to be able to offer Off-Track Betting at Derby Public House,” said Dan Wierck, owner of Derby Public House. “It’s unusual to find OTB these days, and it plays perfectly to what Derby is all about. There’s nothing more exciting than betting a few bucks on the ponies and we’re bringing all the action to downtown Scottsdale along with great food, craft cocktails and our signature throwback vibe.”

To kick off OffTrack Betting, Derby Public House will host a Launch Party this Sunday, March 9th from 12 p.m. to 5 p.m. Learn the ins and outs of horse racing while throwing back a few Mint Juleps.
