Consumer Cellular, the No. 1-rated cellphone service for the fourth consecutive year and exclusive wireless provider for AARP members, continues its growth trajectory by relocating its Phoenix customer support center to a new facility in Tempe, allowing the company to add hundreds of employees to its existing staff of more than 1,000 employees companywide. Consumer Cellular and its employees officially moved into the new 85,245–square–foot customer service center, located in the Tempe Commerce Park at 7410 S. Roosevelt Street, on Sept. 8. The company currently has more than 280 employees in the Phoenix-Tempe area and plans to add an additional 300 by May 2015.
“Our new facility in Tempe will allow us to hire hundreds of new employees so we can continue to provide the best customer service possible to our growing customer base,” said John Marick, CEO of Consumer Cellular. “We appreciate the support of the region as we’ve grown here, and we’re committed to long-term growth of our Arizona facility and contributing to the local community.”
In July of this year, Consumer Cellular reached the 1.5–million–customer milestone, after hitting the 1–million–customer mark in early 2013. Consumer Cellular focuses its efforts on the market of adults 50+ who do not wish to be confined by long-term contracts or the rigidity of typical pre-paid and post-paid options. Consumer Cellular allows customers to customize their plans, as well as the ability to switch plans at any time without penalty, and provides phones and plans that are affordable, flexible and designed to fit their needs.
