Bowman Consulting announced today that it continues to expand in the southwest United States with the acquisition of Trueline Engineering and the opening of a second office in the Phoenix metro region, as the company sees major growth opportunities in the region for its portfolio of multi-discipline design services. The new office will open later this summer in the Phoenix suburb of Peoria.
Trueline, based in Safford, Ariz., provides surveying and engineering services in Arizona and New Mexico. This acquisition and continued expansion comes on the heels of the acquisition of Safford-based PLS Group in 2012, and the opening of a new office in Irvine, Calif., to support clients in Southern California and serve as the headquarters of its geothermal practice.
“With our diversified portfolio of construction engineering services, Bowman is well positioned to drive significant growth in this region as more customers experience our people’s commitment to driving success,” said Troy Peterson, executive in charge of Bowman’s Arizona operations. “We believe that there is tremendous opportunity to serve the growing mining industry in Arizona as well as other major sectors demanding engineering services.”
The Freeport-MacMoRan-owned copper mine in Morenci, Ariz., is the second-largest open-pit copper mine in the United States. Bowman has been aggressively expanding its support of mining operations and expects to continue its growth in the industry as a result of the acquisition and continued successful projects.
“The outstanding work our team has been performing in Morenci and Safford demonstrates to Freeport-MacMoRan and other mining operators the impact that Bowman Consulting makes to help them successfully deliver mining operations,” said Tom Palmer, executive in charge of Bowman’s mining operations. “As the only engineering firm with an operation in Morenci, we are poised for continued success in this market. The addition of Trueline will enable us to continue to execute against our mission.”
Trueline is a private consulting firm based in Safford, Ariz., specializing in civil engineering and land surveying focused on public infrastructure projects. Approximately 80 percent of its contracts are water-, wastewater- and transportation-related.
