Today, local Farmers Insurance® agent Kristin Elves presented twelve teachers at Abraham Lincoln Traditional School with $30,000 in educational grants as part of the company’s Thank America’s Teachers℠ initiative.
“Teachers across the country are so passionate about what they do, and they are committed to improving their schools in any way they can,” said Elves. “I am so excited to have had the honor of presenting these twelve local teachers at Abraham Lincoln Traditional School with $30,000 grants through Thank America’s Teachers.”
The 12 Phoenix teachers are Margaret Dewhurst, Stella Cravens, Jeri Frederick, Thomas Walton, Jared Adelson, Beth Douthitt, Virgie Lloyd, Jody Gallagher, Erica Adelson, Christine Ruhl, Teresa DeMore and Vicky Wolf. These teachers are among 60 winners nationally to each receive a $2,500 educational grant through the Farmers Insurance Thank America’s Teachers national initiative. Across the nation, teachers submitted proposals for funding during the third round of submissions via the ThankAmericasTeachers.com website.
Launched at the 2015 Farmers Insurance Open in San Diego, California, the Thank America’s Teachers program enables Americans everywhere to say thank you to teachers who made an impact on their lives. In addition to awarding 180 grants valued at $2,500 throughout the year to recognize the great work that teachers do every day, Farmers Insurance took the program one step further by developing the Dream Big Teacher Challenge, offering teachers a chance to compete for six $100,000 educational grants. In total, Farmers awarded teachers across the country more than $1 million in educational grants in 2015.
Farmers encourages teachers from around the country to continue to dream big and start thinking about proposal ideas for next year’s $2,500 and $100,000 grant opportunities, which will be open for submission as early as January, 2016.
The public can visit ThankAmericasTeachers.com at any time to share their thanks for teachers who made a difference in their lives, and to learn more about the program.
