Scottsdale-based online marketing company Blue Global Media has sought to make a difference locally by donating to the Phoenix Rescue Mission. Long-time philanthropist and Arizona business owner, Chris Kay, and his company Blue Global Media contributed $10,000 this year to providing hot meals for the homeless. Through its contribution to the Phoenix Rescue Mission, Blue Global Media helped ensure its community’s homeless population received support and comfort during this holiday season.
The Phoenix Rescue Mission has been assisting the impoverished people of Arizona since 1952 and seeks to not only nourish a community in need, but also provide an environment of hope and opportunity. A religious-centered organization that helps improve the lives of homeless Arizonans by providing hot meals, showers, clothing, mentorship and support, its efforts have helped to rebuild lives for over six decades. “The Phoenix Rescue Mission is an Arizona staple,” says Blue Global Media CEO Chris Kay. “Anyone looking to make a real difference in this state should seriously consider working with this dedicated group of people. Blue Global Media was happy to be able to contribute to the brave and caring efforts made by the Phoenix Rescue Mission.”
According to the organization’s website, one in every 230 Arizonans experienced homelessness in 2012, an increase from the year previous. The Phoenix Rescue Mission not only recognizes the need for financial support among the homeless community of Arizona, but also the medical and emotional needs among this group. The organization goes on to state that mental illness, physical disabilities and alcohol or drug abuse were reported in over 60% of the homeless population in Arizona. “This community is one that not only needs help, but can often be overlooked on a day-to-day basis,” adds Chris Kay. “We wanted to make sure we took pause during the holiday season to recognize the issues in our home state and hopefully make immediate impact on the lives of local Arizonans.”
