Honeywell Aerospace’s vice president of Safety & Information Management Systems Jack Jacobs was recently appointed to the Arizona Aerospace and Defense Commission to support the state’s effort to improve the local business environment and fuel future growth for the aerospace industry. Jacobs has more than 25 years of experience leading aerospace and defense programs and currently leads a $1–billion global portfolio of products and services within the Marketing & Product Management function at Honeywell Aerospace.
“Jack Jacobs’ appointment to the commission will help bolster Arizona’s already strong national position in aerospace and defense research, technology, and manufacturing,” said Sandra Watson, president and CEO of the Arizona Commerce Authority. “Jacobs not only brings a reputation for technical expertise and savvy, but his leadership abilities will be invaluable in helping to propel future growth and the long-term sustainability in this key, multibillion-dollar sector.”
“Some of the world’s most advanced aerospace and defense technology is engineered and developed right here in Arizona, and we must continue to fuel our community for future growth,” said Jacobs, who holds Ph.D. in structural mechanics and has served on several U.S. Department of Defense, university and Aviation Week advisory committees for both technology deployment and program excellence. “To do so, we need to encourage engineering and science education for our youth and attract more businesses to Arizona through private- and public-sector collaboration. On behalf of Honeywell, we are happy to support the Commission to reach this common goal.”
