Entrepreneur Business Program Born through Partnership with BBB and Local Law Firm

BBB Serving the Pacific Southwest

Snell & Wilmer partnered with Better Business Bureau Serving the Pacific Southwest (BBBPacSW) to support entrepreneurs participating in its inaugural Empower by GoDaddy program. Over the past 82-years, Snell & Wilmer has nurtured a firm culture with values that authentically align with BBB Standards for Trust, so the partnership was a natural fit.

Empower by GoDaddy, which has successfully transitioned to virtual classes, is a 16-week business program geared towards Main Street entrepreneurs looking to ignite their business. The initial launch of the 2020 program called for speakers, instructors, and subject matter experts. Brian J. Burt, Partner and Chair of the Emerging Business Group at Snell & Wilmer, jumped at the opportunity and has generously donated financial resources and in-kind services to develop the program’s 30 local entrepreneurs.

I firmly believe that ‘doing good’ is good for business, and enthusiastically support BBB’s commitment to growing Phoenix’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. Starting and scaling a business is an inherently difficult endeavor, but when an entrepreneur elects to take legal and ethical shortcuts, the challenges multiply exponentially,” said Mr. Burt, who has also served on BBB’s Board of Directors for the past 12 years.

“We are very excited to have the opportunity to partner with BBB’s Empower by GoDaddy program, and look forward to helping advance its ethical entrepreneurship mission.”

Building Better Businesses

As BBBPacSW strives to build better businesses, collaborative efforts are needed now more than ever. The donations of Snell & Wilmer will allow the program to provide counsel and guidance during these unprecedented times. The information is gleaned to assist businesses to act ethically even in times of uncertainty.

“Partnering with Snell & Wilmer, Arizona’s largest law firm, is an honor. The Empower by GoDaddy program is impacting the lives of diverse Main Street entrepreneurs from across Arizona. Ethics and integrity is at the heart of everything we do at BBB and passing these values on to entrepreneurs is an intrinsic part of our mission,” shares Kimberly Roland, BBB’s Director of Innovation and Entrepreneur Programs.
