Phoenix-based marketing services agency LaneTerralever is one of the 2016 Best Places to Work announced today by Advertising Age and Best Companies Group.
LaneTerralever is among 50 companies in the U.S. selected for the list.
This survey and awards program identifies, recognizes and honors the best employers in the marketing and media industry, benefiting the industry’s economy, workforce and businesses.
The list is based on criteria including workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems, demographics and the employee experience.
Noteworthy aspects of the LaneTerralever company culture and benefits include:
• a matching 401(k) savings plan
• paid maternity and paternity leave
• flexible schedules – arrive early / leave early
• fully-stocked kitchen with snacks and drinks
• dog-friendly offices
• community volunteer opportunities during work hours at St. Vincent de Paul
• participation in community service projects with Autism Speaks, MaagToy Foundation, Christian Family Care Agency, JDRF Walk to Cure Diabetes and Spark of Hope
• Culture Club – an organization of employees that plans office activities, including holiday parties, happy hours, Office Olympics and other events
• quarterly all-employee meetings – where management presents company business updates before attending movies, baseball games or other fun activities
“The companies among the 2016 Best Places to Work represent the cream of the crop in marketing, advertising, media and ad technology,” said Deputy Editor Judann Pollack.
“In these highly competitive fields, 50 companies stand out for their best-in-class benefits, salaries and hiring practices, and also for creating a compelling culture in which employees are engaged, encouraged and valued. Talent has never been more important in marketing, and our Best Places to Work companies have proven that they can attract and retain the best in the business.”
“Our management team is committed to creating a fulfilling and invigorating work experience for every member of the staff,” said LaneTerralever CEO Beau Lane.
“We appreciate the recognition, yet awards aren’t what drive our decisions about the way we recruit, reward and retain our staff – or the way we run the business,” said Chris Johnson, company co-founder and president. “Our management team nurtures a culture where it’s easy to want to come to work.”
LaneTerralever was created in 2013 through a merger between the former E.B. Lane advertising agency that was founded in Phoenix in 1962, and the Tempe-based leading national digital marketing agency Terralever.
The 2016 Best Places to Work list is a joint effort of Advertising Age and Best Companies Group. Best Companies Group is dedicated to establishing programs to identify and recognize workplaces that nurture a superior level of employee satisfaction and engagement.
Companies from across the United States participated in the two-part survey process to determine Ad Age’s Best Places to Work. Any agency, ad tech, media company or marketing division of a brand that’s been in business for more than one year with more than 15 full-time employees was eligible. Public, private, for-profit and non-for-profit businesses could all participate.
The list was determined by feedback from two surveys. The first gathered information about employers’ offerings and the second was an employee survey to measure the workplace experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.
