All over the country for the past several weeks World Series Champion and Chicago Cubs First Baseman Anthony Rizzo has been raising money and partnering with local restaurants to deliver meals to healthcare workers on the frontlines.
This Thursday, April 2nd the Rizzo Family Foundation will partner with Steak 44 in Phoenix to bring its fine cuisine to doctors, nurses and staff working in the Emergency Room at Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Starting at 12:30pm Thursday Steak 44 will deliver approximately 50 meals to workers thanks to the Rizzo Family Foundation.
“We have worked with the owners of Steak 44 in Chicago on a number of charitable endeavors over the years and we are huge fans of their incredible steaks and seafood,” said Rizzo. “Now thanks to our generous friends around the country we are able to partner with Steak 44 and provide these 50 much needed meals to our bravest working on the frontlines at Phoenix Children’s Hospital.”
Most of the cafeterias are closed in the hospitals right so a warm meal of fine cuisine from Steak 44 will come at a good time for these healthcare workers.
“We can’t thank the Rizzo Family Foundation enough,” said Oliver Badgio of Steak 44. “Not only are they providing healthcare workers a warm meal as a way say thank you for everything their doing, but they are also supporting restaurants like ours around the country with a little extra revenue during these tough economic times.”
In an effort to better protect the community Steak 44’s dining rooms have been closed since mid-March. The restaurant however is continuing to stay open from 12pm to 9pm daily for its white glove curbside service of the full menu, as well as the complete wine list.
Steak 44 is located at 5101 N. 44th St., Phoenix, AZ 85018. To order from Steak 44 please call 602-271-4400 or visit www.steak44.com.
Delivery is also still available on Uber Eats, Door Dash and Postmates.
