Valley Homebuilder Leads the Homebuilding Industry with Clean Air as a Top Priority

Fulton Homes

Fulton Homes, Arizona’s largest family-owned and -operated homebuilder, is being recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). The Tempe-based homebuilder is being awarded the 2021 Indoor airPLUS Leader Award for the 7th consecutive year for going above and beyond to increase overall indoor air quality in homes.

This award recognizes Indoor airPLUS Program partners who build Indoor airPLUS homes. For 2021, the EPA recognized only 10 Indoor airPLUS leaders for promoting the benefits of superior indoor air quality and spreading awareness on the value of safer and healthier homes.

The benefits to being an Indoor airPLUS home are numerous.  Homes built to earn the Indoor airPLUS label include features that help to reduce major contaminants that can lead to poor indoor air quality, including mold, moisture, carbon dioxide, toxic chemicals, allergens and radon. Other benefits include protection from potential exposure to combustion pollutants by the installation of heating equipment that cannot spill combustion gases inside the home. Also, carbon dioxide monitors are installed in all sleeping areas.

With unhealthy levels of pollutants and irritants so present in Arizona, clean air is crucial in homes. Now more than ever, the homebuilder is ensuring top-tier air quality in every home as more people are spending time indoors.

“As a seven-time Leader Award winner, and two-time Leader of the Year winner, Fulton Homes continues to be a forerunner at building and authenticating homes that provide unparalleled air quality, energy efficiency, comfort, durability and peace of mind” said David Rowson, Director of EPA’s Indoor Environments Division. On behalf of EPA and the Indoor airPLUS team, I would like to congratulate the 2021 airPlusPLUS Leader Award Winners and thank them for their focus on building healthier homes.”

“We will continue to stress the importance of indoor air quality in all of our homes,” said CEO Doug Fulton. “We understand the importance of indoor air quality as it is a unique concern to our region and is key to our operations.”

For 45 years, Fulton Homes has been Arizona’s largest family-owned and -operated homebuilder, designing and developing large-scale master-planned communities and homes that suit the needs of the ever-changing American family. Known for its Legendary Fulton Quality, Fulton Homes has built more than 35,000 single-family homes in the Phoenix metro area.
