Speakeasy Lounge Set to Open in Scottsdale by Longtime Restaurateurs


Cocktail connoisseurs and enthusiasts alike will soon have a new, unique lounge to imbibe thoughtfully created beverages in. The Goose is set to open on April 26 within the Mercado del Lago plaza adjacent to Crust Simply Italian at 8300 Hayden Road in Scottsdale.

The Goose embodies the traits of a speakeasy and has been fully renovated and beautifully designed. Guests will enjoy intimate seating areas, candle lit tables and décor that incorporates Art Deco characteristics seen in the sleek geometric patterned wallpaper, bold uses of gold accents and black and white marbled floor. The lounge will have a max capacity of 42 people. 

The drink menu includes classic cocktails including Vesper martini, Clover Club and Vieux Carre plus new modern iterations that the bar team have masterly developed. The Down Comforter made with smoked Wagon bourbon, Amaro Lucano Anniversario, pistachio Orgeat and Australian coffee bitters, OnlyFeathers that combines Platinum vodka, fresh passionfruit and lemon juice and is topped with Prosecco and Take a Gander that is made with Japanese whiskey, plum sake, pomegranate tea syrup, dry vermouth and clarified milk punch, are a few of the new standout drinks.

The well-curated spirits selection will give guests the option to enjoy whiskey flights or a pour of something new. Goose Bumps, two shots of premium vodka with two portions of caviar is another unique offering on the menu.

The food menu, from the Crust Simply Italian kitchen, features unique sharable plates including tangerine spiced olives, fried calamari, charcuterie board, select pizzas and desserts.

“As a sister concept to The Ostrich and Blue Heron, you will see many similarities, however The Goose will stand on its own with many differences like the original decor, elevated wine list, separate food menu and of course some newly creative cocktails,” said Michael Merendino owner of Crust Restaurant Group. “We will also be offering Goose Bumps which will be an insanely fun way to enjoy caviar and vodka! Come down and say hello.”

Crust Restaurant Group that operates Crust Simply Italian restaurants, Crust Pizzerias and two other cocktail lounges – The Ostrich and Blue Heron own and operate The Goose. With the opening of this venue, it brings the restaurant group’s portfolio to eight with plans to open another Crust Simply Italian, a dessert shop and another cocktail bar in Mesa later this year.

The Goose will be open Sunday through Thursday 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and Friday and Saturday 5 p.m. until midnight.
