J&J Snack Foods officially opened its third distribution center in Glendale, Arizona, which completes the company’s strategic supply chain transformation. The state-of-the-art facility is strategically placed to optimize distribution across the western United States.
The facility, which became operational in the first quarter of 2024, accommodates 13,000 pallet positions for frozen food storage to optimize shipping some of the company’s most beloved brands, including SUPERPRETZEL® soft pretzel products, frozen novelties from The ICEE® Company, LUIGI’s Real Italian Ice, ¡Hola! Churros, PhillySwirl, Whole Fruit, and more. Some of the country’s favorite cookies, pies, funnel cakes and handheld sandwiches are housed in the facility.
The new facility has already brought more than 40 new jobs to the Glendale community, with hiring ongoing for some shifts. J&J Snack Foods anticipates additional employment opportunities as the company continues to grow.
“With the opening of our new Glendale distribution center, we have completed a critical initiative for our business,” said Dan Fachner, President & CEO of J&J Snack Foods. “With all three of our regional distributions in operation, over 80% of sales orders are now shipped from our new distribution network. This successful investment in transforming our supply chain has enabled us to drive further productivity improvements in our overall business model.”
In addition to the Glendale distribution center, J&J Snack Foods has opened distribution centers in Terrell, TX and Woolwich, NJ over the past year. The distribution centers are part of a $100 million investment the company made in the last several years to grow production capabilities and optimize their supply chain.
