What do you get if you combine DoorDash with braids? Meet braidbabes, a team of mobile braiders as the first mobile hair braiding company in North America that comes to you, has officially launched in Scottsdale.

You’ve seen the pictures: the perfect braid, the Pinterest hair of your dreams, but nowadays who has time to go to a salon? With braidbabes, you don’t need to find a babysitter or leave the comfort of your own home because they come right to you. Whether it’s your home, office, Airbnb, or local coffee shop, braidbabes can give you the look you want for your next night out, wedding, bachelorette party, kid’s birthday, or special occasion.

How does it work? Book an appointment or party through their website and one of their babes will arrive at the address entered. You can choose from the braid menu or find an inspo picture of your own and your braider will create it. Additional services like shimmers (aka hair tinsel which can last up to a few months) and feed-in braids (braids with added color and length). As for the experience, they bring the music (tell them your favorite artist), accessories (who doesn’t love butterfly clips?), the perfect self-care day, and so many compliments. It’s the perfect service for the hustling millennial or busy mom who doesn’t have time to run to the salon.

braidbabes was founded in 2019 by Buffalo, NY native, Emmily Bowman. Emmily, a data analyst who was looking for a creative outlet, found a braid book that had been under her bed for years. She looked up the author, Abby Smith, on Instagram and by wild chance, Abby was starting  a  30 day braid challenge in which Emmily joined.  People around Emmily started to take notice and wanted her to braid their hair. The big break came when she set up a braidbar for a local boutique that ended up with a three hour wait. From then on Emmily knew this was her passion and thus braidbabes was born.

“We’ve noticed that the Scottsdale and Phoenix markets have continued to experience exponential growth. Knowing how much of a bachelorette and event destination Scottsdale is, my cofounder Tori and I wanted to bring braidbabes here. When I came to Scottsdale to help with the launch, I immediately fell in love with the city and now am proud to call Scottsdale home. I am beyond excited to be growing braidbabes in a market that supports a multitude of brands with so much room for growth in the future.” says Founder and CEO, Emmily Bowman.

Appointments start at $75 and travel is included if you live within the first 20 miles of the Fashion Square Mall. As for babes that live outside this radius – don’t worry, braidbabes will still come to you with an additional charge at $2/mile.

Beyond just mobile braiding, braidbabes also offers braidbabes university, an online learning community that teaches you how to achieve the perfect braid.

braidbabes is currently braiding in Nashville, TN, Buffalo, NY, and now in Scottsdale, AZ. As they continue to build their network within Arizona, they will continue their nationwide expansion into the Austin, Denver, and Los Angeles markets this year through franchising. In honor of their Scottsdale debut, braidbabes is offering a complimentary shimmer appointment for every party booked through the month of February and $100 off their bootcamp for the month of March.
