Rise & shine (or lounge & linger) at The Churchill, where an all-new restaurant is helping to transform this open-air courtyard marketplace into the ultimate all-day hangout and chill co-working space. Named Stoop Kid, this locally-owned NY-style bagel, burger and coffee shop opens this Friday, November 13 from 7 – 11 am for breakfast, followed by and all-day menu of burgers, bar bites and more served from 11 am to close.
Plus, pair your bagel with free wifi on The Churchill’s shaded, socially-distanced courtyard while savoring Stoop Kid’s full selection of premium coffee drinks from the espresso bar, including cold brew and seasonal specials. Not to mention, The Churchill’s expanded Weekday Happy Hour, now offered Tuesday – Friday from 11 am to 7 pm.
Open Tuesday through Sunday, Stoop Kid tempts with an ever-changing selection of fresh bagels and shmears, or hearty bagel sandos such as the vegetarian Yam & Cheese or the Money Shot (spicy bacon jam shmear, marinated tomato, sharp cheddar, soft scramble and hash cake on asiago bagel).
Not an early bird? Stoop Kid has you covered with a lunch, dinner and late-night menu served from 11 am to 10 pm Tuesday through Thursday and Sunday, and till midnight on Friday and Saturday. Think: two-fisted burgers such as the double patty Stoop Burger (sharp cheddar, caramelized onion, dill pickle and dijonaise on a brioche bun) or the single patty Probrecito burger. But be sure to save room for irresistible sides such as fried plantains or hash cake.
Led by Phoenix’s own, Steven McMillen, who co-owns Berdena’s in Old Town Scottsdale and previously worked at Ocotillo, Kream Coffee and Maverick Coffee, Stoop Kid takes over the former Commander Hamburger space.
Most important, says The Churchill co-founder, Kell Duncan, “Stoop Kid helps us to better serve our community by adding our first-ever dedicated breakfast and coffee shop, and creating the ultimate co-working space thanks to our spacious, socially distanced courtyard and free wifi. From coffee and bagels in the morning to our expanded weekday Happy Hour (11 am to 7pm), to late-night dinner and drinks, co-working is more fun with your friends at The Churchill.” Located at 901 N. 1st St., Phoenix, AZ 85004
The Churchill is open Tuesdays – Thursdays and Sundays from 7 am to 10 pm, and Fridays and Saturdays from 7 am to midnight. Named after its historic downtown Phoenix neighborhood—Evans Churchill— this welcoming 14,000 sq.-ft. marketplace is constructed out of 19 upcycled shipping containers and is proudly home to 10 small local businesses, overlooking a 9,000 sq.-ft. open-air courtyard.
