CO+HOOTS, a fast-growing coworking community, has opened in downtown Mesa. The occasion was marked by a ribbon-cutting ceremony held this morning at CO+HOOTS’ new workspace at Benedictine University, 225. E. Main St.
“CO+HOOTS has emerged as the premier coworking space in the Phoenix-Mesa metro area, and they continue to grow their work in support of small businesses, startups and entrepreneurs,” said Mesa Mayor John Giles. “CO+HOOTS at Benedictine University is another great piece of the puzzle in downtown Mesa’s renaissance.”
CO+HOOTS Mesa is a private-public partnership involving the City of Mesa, Benedictine University and CO+HOOTS. It is part of the Downtown Mesa Innovation District, combining business startups, incubators and accelerators with a diverse population and eclectic mix of housing, jobs and amenities in a walkable community.
“The facility offers office spaces, conference rooms, desks, a phone booth for calls, a podcast studio and a kitchen in addition to the online resources and access to networking and support. This will be Mesa’s one-stop-shop for entrepreneurs looking to start a business or small business owners looking to be part of a community of like-minded people,” said Mesa Vice Mayor Duff.
CO+HOOTS was founded in 2010 in Phoenix and has emerged as a globally recognized coworking space. It is home to more than 280 entrepreneurs, startups and small businesses. “Opening a CO+HOOTS location that truly reflects downtown Mesa’s distinctive personality and one that will also support the next generation of entrepreneurs, through our partnership with Benedictine University, has always been important to us,” said Odeen Domingo, CO+HOOTS CEO. “As a major local economic driver, we are honing in on creative, collaborative ways to help amplify downtown Mesa’s Innovation District.”
The CO+HOOTS Institute for Entrepreneurship is a unique partnership between CO+HOOTS, Benedictine University and corporations. Benedictine students will work alongside experienced entrepreneurs to build vital skills to become tomorrow’s most innovative leaders.
“We are proud to be able to help bring CO+HOOTS to downtown Mesa’s Innovation District and we are excited to witness the impact they bring to the students of Benedictine,” said Kevin Broeckling, Benedictine University Mesa CEO.
CO+HOOTS is Arizona’s largest coworking space. It has been ranked number one by Inc.com as the most innovative coworking space and the fourth best coworking space in the nation.
