Local Lab on a Mission to Help Underserved Communities, Businesses

by Kendall Oltrogge

According to the New York Times Coronavirus Tracker, while hospitalizations are down, COVID-19 cases and positivity rates are very high in Maricopa County. Coupled with the recent discovery of the Omicron variant, the need for testing and vaccination is more prevalent than ever. Local lab Premier Lab Solutions is on a mission to help the underserved and uninsured when it comes to coronavirus testing and vaccination. We have partnered with the City of Phoenix to expand services through a campaign called Community for Immunity.

Community for Immunity uses a mobile testing unit to administer testing and vaccinations in diverse, under-resourced areas of the Valley in an effort to decrease the spread of the virus and improve accessibility to these services in disadvantaged neighborhoods. The campaign is also working to educate these communities about the importance of getting tested and vaccinated, and reinforcing that these services come at no cost, regardless of insurance status. Recurring Community for Immunity locations include Desert Sage Library, Cortez Park, Yucca Library and more. For an ongoing, updated list of locations, visit CommunityForImmunity.com.

In addition to working in underserved communities, Premier Lab Solutions is partnering with school districts and local businesses to assist with mitigation strategies as new coronavirus mandates continue to roll out. The lab is contracted with Phoenix Union High School District to provide testing to more than 19 schools within the district, as well as Grand Canyon University to test its student population and athletes in accordance with NCAA regulations.

Premier can go onsite to any business or facility to provide all-in-one testing and vaccination solutions. With online portals that are user-friendly and bilingual, Premier offers PCR and Antigen tests and can customize mitigation strategies to fit the needs of any organization.

Along with being the sole community lab in the Valley, Premier is also a closed circuit with onsite specimen collection services, allowing it to be a single source provider for both testing and sample collection. In addition to the partnership with the City of Phoenix, we are also partnered with the State of Arizona and Maricopa County.
