Giving back to the community has never been easier as Arizona Federal Credit Union announced today the launch of its newest community-focused debit card, the Local Artist, Local Causes Visa® debit card. Local artist Jon Arvizu created the design for the debit card, and every time a cardholder makes a purchase with the card, Arizona Federal will make a donation to a community fund that benefits deserving non-profits throughout the Valley.
Arizona Federal already has existing debit card partnerships with the 100 Club of Arizona and Arizona Humane Society. Through these programs, the credit union has donated nearly $200,000 to those organizations since 2018. The Local Artist, Local Causes card builds upon these successful give-back efforts and allows for smaller non-profits to receive funding for initiatives that support the betterment of the community.
“As a community-minded credit union, we continue to look for new ways for our member-owners to give back with ease, and the Local Artist, Local Causes card is just that opportunity,” said Jason Paprocki, chief operating officer at Arizona Federal Credit Union. “With proceeds going into a general fund, we will be able to support more local organizations and non-profits to further strengthen our Valley community.”
Local artist Jon Arvizu, who is known for his eclectic Arizona-centric art and design, was commissioned by Arizona Federal to develop the artwork for the card.
“As parents, we have found ways to support our children’s schools with apparel we’ve created. We try to shop local as much as possible and work closely with so many local artists and businesses that we see the benefit of a debit card program like this, “Arvizu said. “Local First Arizona has helped us so much in recent years and knowing they have a great partnership with Arizona Federal made the decision to design this card even easier. We’re excited to see how this will help our community.”
As a hyperlocal credit union, Arizona Federal created the Local Artist, Local Causes card as another way for member-owners to feel connected to the local community and economy, something Local First Arizona has been promoting through its Move Your Money campaign.
