Legacy Traditional Schools believes outstanding, supported teachers are at the heart of students’ success.
Legacy says that’s why they have announced the approval of across-the-board teacher pay increases for the 2022-23 school year. Average pay for over 700 teachers across the Legacy network of 21 Arizona schools, as well as Legacy Online Academy, will increase by an average of 16%. Under the plan, the average Legacy teacher will earn $8,500 more in the coming school year. Overall, the pay hike will bring average compensation for Arizona Legacy teachers to just over $60,000/year.
“Excellent teachers are central to everything we do, so we are thrilled to be able to offer this well-deserved pay increase to Legacy Traditional Schools’ amazing teachers,” said Chief Academic Officer Nicole Kirkley. “These dollars will make a big difference in the lives of our teachers and are vital to our effort to recruit and retain Arizona’s best educators.”
The teacher pay hike is made possible, in part, due to additional state funding recently approved as part of the fiscal 2023 Arizona budget. The plan includes an additional $526 million allocated for K-12 schools across Arizona.
“We are grateful to Governor Ducey and legislators for this additional funding, which we have chosen to prioritize for Legacy’s most precious asset: our excellent teachers,” said Legacy co-founder Aaron Hale. “If you’re an incredible teacher and as devoted to your students as we are to our mission of education, come join us at Legacy!”
