The Pergola

Taliesin West, Frank Lloyd Wright’s iconic desert winter home and studio, is unveiling the lineup of 2024 meeting and event offerings, featuring a new outdoor venue, The Pergola, alongside its tried-and-true spaces.Nestled in the McDowell Mountains in Scottsdale, Ariz., Taliesin West is more than a structure designed and constructed by Wright over 80 years ago; it’s a living legacy of one of the most influential architects of the 20th century. This National Historic Landmark and World Heritage Site offers a one-of-a-kind blend of architecture and natural beauty in a captivating and historically rich venue – the ideal backdrop for corporate private events, fundraisers, wedding ceremonies and more. With six total distinct spaces available to accommodate groups ranging from 13 to 350 guests, the site’s most notable offerings include:The Pergola

As Taliesin West’s newest meeting and event space, The Pergola has evolved from its initial purpose as a central passage through the heart of Taliesin West’s historic core into a versatile event venue. This beautiful, narrow space abuts the Drafting Room on one side and a hedge of vivid, verdant bougainvillea on the other, with the wide-open Garden Squares just beyond it. Semi-sheltered by the beams above, The Pergola can be easily reimagined with long, family-style tables for sit-down dinners, or set up with bars and high-tops to create an inviting lounge atmosphere.

Garden Squares

With the McDowell Mountains in view and surrounded by Wright’s distinctive architecture, the Garden Squares are truly an immersion into Taliesin West for guests. A blank canvas that can be tailored to any event experience, the Garden Squares are ideal for groups both large and small. While this space has the largest capacity, its flexibility enables it to beautifully accommodate a sit-down dinner for hundreds of guests just as easily as smaller, secluded gatherings. The Music Pavilion & Pavilion Terrace

A multi-functional hall, The Music Pavilion is an adaptable venue that optimizes privacy for your guests. Dramatic and bold, the space is best known for its optimal acoustics. Featuring a series of curtained backdrops that can be arranged to change the depth of the stage, The Music Pavilion is a favorite choice for exhibitions, performances, lectures, dining and more. Outside its double doors is a gathering space partially encircled by foliage and punctuated by a stunning sculpture of Wright apprentice and artist Heloise Crista. Often the perfect spot for a bar, registration table or musicians, the Pavilion Terrace is a lovely space to enjoy the outdoor ambiance of Arizona. The Cabaret

The drama of the Cabaret Theater is unmistakable: its low ceiling and desert masonry walls create an intentional intimacy in signature Wright fashion. Here, guests can enjoy presentations and performances while dining comfortably at the upholstered seating and drop-leaf tables Wright himself designed over 75 years ago. The space’s subtle slope and unique shape allow for unimpeded views of the stage as well as optimal acoustics.

The Kiva

The Kiva is a hidden treasure at Taliesin West. Named after an underground chamber used by Pueblo Indians, the Kiva was one of the first structures built on the property. Having served as a dining room, film screening room, lounge and library, there is no limit to the uses of this space. Perfect for meetings or a small dinner, the Kiva is the most private space available at Taliesin West.Taliesin West’s experienced Event Staff are available to coordinate timing with venue rentals and vendors as well as provide tours of each space, create custom proposals and contracts and provide support staff on-site during events.
