DHL Industrial Projects, a unit of DHL Global Forwarding specializing in complex project logistics, deep sea chartering activity, and heavy-lift cargo, is pleased to announce a development in the Mining Sector. Gavin Erasmus, who has already been serving as the Global Head for the Mining Sector, will be relocating to Phoenix, Arizona.
Recognizing the strategic importance of proximity to key mining operations, DHL Industrial Projects has chosen to strategically relocate Gavin to Phoenix.
However, this relocation is part of a broader strategy that includes the expansion of the sector into other geographies, specifically Australia and The Middle East. This decision underscores the company’s dedication to being at the heart of its customers’ operations, enabling faster response times, enhanced collaboration, and tailored solutions to meet the unique needs of the mining industry.
Gavin Erasmus, with his wealth of experience and expertise, will continue to lead DHL Industrial Projects in the mining sector in deepening its understanding of customer requirements and providing innovative logistics solutions that drive operational efficiency, project delivery, and competitiveness for mining companies.
“At DHL Industrial Projects, our commitment is to drive growth and provide exceptional value to the mining industry worldwide,” said Gavin Erasmus. “By leveraging our global expertise and getting closer to mining operations, we are ready to play a crucial role in shaping the future of logistics in this industry.”
Andy Tite, Vice President Global Business Development & Commercial Director at DHL Industrial Projects, further expanded on Gavin’s placement, stating, “At DHL Industrial Projects, we prioritize the needs of our customers as a solution focused provider. Working in partnership with our clients is essential to ensure we cater for all their logistical wants and needs and being in close proximity to them enables the required quality interaction to achieve this. We are thrilled that Gavin is making this strategic move, providing increased subject matter expertise in the US and the wider the mining corridor both North and South of Phoenix for the whole of the Americas. This is just the first stage of significant investment and increased commitment we are making in the mining sector, which Gavin will continue to head up globally”
