Slim Chickens, a leader in the “better chicken” segment of fast-casual restaurants, will continue expansion of its 100% all-natural, fresh chicken and unrivaled flavor in Arizona, with its newest opening at 14765 W. McDowell Rd. in Goodyear on June 16th. Franchising is nothing new to Lucas Barnett, as he is a second-generation franchisee who grew up working in his family’s Burger King restaurants. After earning a finance degree, Barnett worked in Aerospace and Defense M&A, where he developed a deep appreciation for operational excellence.
That experience sparked a passion for creating efficient, high-performing businesses that are centered around the customer — a mindset he’s successfully applied to restaurant franchising.

He’s excited to add another Slim Chickens location to their growing portfolio, with plans to open 2-3 restaurants per year.

Aside from bringing its famous, delicious fried chicken and Southern-inspired sides to the area, the new Slim Chickens location in Goodyear will also make a positive economic impact with over 100 new jobs anticipated for creation in the community.
The Goodyear opening is one piece in Slim Chickens’ larger growth story. Since its founding in 2003, the brand has celebrated over 300 locations opened and a fanatical following in 34 U.S. states, as well as international locations in the United Kingdom, Germany and Turkey, with an overall goal of opening 600 restaurants within the next decade. In Arizona alone, the brand has already grown quickly to 4 locations.
