Benjamin McRae, who has practiced architecture in the valley for 25 years, has launched his own practice — Benjamin Studio. The Phoenix-based firm is dedicated to providing clients with a full scope of architectural services and a uniquely customized one-on-one experience.
“Throughout my career, I have worked with several local firms to expand my knowledge and develop my experience in every sector of this industry from public to private,” says McRae of launching his firm. “It has long been a dream of mine to have my own practice and all my experiences up to this point serve as the foundation of our services at Benjamin Studio.”
McRae’s longtime passion for architecture has led him to garner a wealth of knowledge in all scopes of the industry — from design to technical aspects. As the principal of his boutique firm, McRae is excited about the opportunity to provide his clients with a truly collaborative approach — utilizing his expertise in all aspects of each project from start to completion.
Throughout his career working for both small and large architecture firms, McRae has led challenging and technical laboratory building projects as well as bespoke personal residential projects. Most recently, he served as a leader at a large full-service design-build firm in the valley. He gained experience working with private clients and had the opportunity to design buildings across the spectrum — from industrial and office buildings to custom residential.
Fresh off the heels of launching Benjamin Studio in 2023, McRae was recently named among AZ Big Media’s list of “Az Business Leaders 2024. This honor is something that McRae does not take lightly.
“It feels very good to me to be recognized for the work that I have put in and for the image I have created for myself and my studio,” says McRae. “I am proud of this honor.”
