Curbside Pickup, Buy-Online-Pick-Up-In-Store, and Shopping by Appointment Are Here to Stay, Says Scottsdale’s Fashion Square

Scottsdale Fashion Square

After a multi-year redevelopment that set the bar for luxury retailing, Scottsdale Fashion Square, part of the Macerich (NYSE:MAC) portfolio of one-of-a-kind retail properties in top markets, today detailed its recent successes along with plans to introduce even more new-to-the-market tenants, remodeled stores, and one-of-a-kind experiences this year.

Despite last year’s challenges stemming from the pandemic, Scottsdale Fashion Square successfully opened several new stores and restaurants, including Versace, Rolex, Golden Goose, Jacadi Paris, Hyde Park Jewelers, Capital One Café, Warby Parker, Fabletics, Casper, Levi’s Store, Amazon 4-star, Shade Store, Francine, and Nobu.

In addition, several stores – including Cartier, Bulgari, Salvatore Ferragamo, Carolina Herrera, Indochino, Brighton Collectibles, One 51, Nick’s Menswear and Xpress Tailoring – either moved, expanded, or remodeled their spaces within Scottsdale Fashion Square last year.

“As the retail industry evolves, Scottsdale Fashion Square continues to be a destination for successful brands,” said Melanie Sutton, Marketing Manager of the upscale shopping center. “Retailers continue to tell us, and show us by signing leases, that they do not have to be in every center – just the best centers. And Scottsdale Fashion Square is one of the best; it continues to exceed expectations because we are always listening and collaborating with retailers, restaurants and others to deliver exactly what customers want and need.”

Pinkberry opened at the center this month, and Lucid Motors will soon open a Lucid Studio at the center to give customers the opportunity to experience Lucid’s electric vehicle technology and reserve their own Lucid Air all-electric sedan. Additionally, retailers like Buck Mason and Psycho Bunny will open a new location at Scottsdale Fashion Square this year, along with other new, first-to-the-market tenants and existing tenants that plan to expand, remodel, or add to their offerings.

Later this year, a two-level, 11,000-square-foot flagship Dior store will open in the luxury wing of Scottsdale Fashion Square. It will be the first and only Dior in all of Arizona, further solidifying the center’s position as the leader in luxury shopping.

The center also received Bureau Veritas’ SafeGuard™ Hygiene Excellence and Safety Certification, showcasing its best-in-class hygiene and safety protocols. Granted by the world-leading provider in testing, inspection, and certification, the designation acknowledges that the 1.9-million-square-foot center has exceeded stringent requirements to minimize the onsite risk of virus spread.

“The health and safety of our shoppers and employees is our first priority,” said Sutton.

Along with new hygiene and safety protocols, Scottsdale Fashion Square and its retailers responded to consumer needs with more ways for people to tailor their shopping and dining experiences. This includes expanded hours, buy-online-pick-up-in-store offerings, expanded restaurant patio seating, more options to pick up takeout curbside, and shopping by appointment, whether virtually or in person.

Conveniences like these are here to stay, according to Sutton. “Based on consumer usage and response, it is clear these amenities will continue to be offered, even when business is back to its new normal,” she said. “Our shoppers’ lifestyle habits are always changing – we know that our guests want choice, experience, and to be surprised.”

According to Sutton, now is the perfect time to visit Scottsdale Fashion Square. “You can really see how the center continues to evolve to meet and exceed consumers’ needs and wants. We offer something for everyone. Here, you will find your favorite brands along with an away-from-home workspace, a favorite restaurant, a new movie, and immersive art – while, on the same day, you could also receive a spa treatment, a haircut, or even have some custom tailoring done.”

Scottsdale Fashion Square is one of the premier shopping destinations in the nation. With 1.9 million square feet, and more than 200 shops and restaurants, Scottsdale Fashion Square features more than 40 of the world’s finest luxury and contemporary brands including Louis Vuitton, Cartier, Burberry, Bulgari, Escada, Gucci, Rolex, Saint Laurent, Salvatore Ferragamo, St. John, Bottega Veneta, Carolina Herrera, David Yurman, Jimmy Choo, Nobu, Prada, Neiman Marcus, Tiffany & Co., and Versace. The upscale shopping center’s multi-phased renovation has delivered mixed-use expansion, and a redefinition of the luxury shopping and dining experience.
