The Mission, will officially open its newest location at Epicenter at Agritopia in Gilbert on Monday, February 9. From acclaimed Chef/Partner Matt Carter, The Mission Gilbert marks the restaurant’s third Valley location, bringing its signature candle-lit ambiance, award-winning cuisine, and agave-forward cocktails to one of the East Valley’s most vibrant dining destinations. The restaurant will be open daily for lunch and dinner Sunday – Thursday from 11am-10pm, and Friday – Saturday from 11am-11pm; with weekend brunch to follow.
Located at 3150 E Ray Rd #180, The Mission Gilbert will reflect the unmistakable hallmarks of the brand, including a dramatic Himalayan salt brick wall, warm wood accents, and an immersive, moody atmosphere designed for lingering meals and lively gatherings. Guests can expect the restaurant’s celebrated menu featuring daily house-made tortillas, the iconic Tableside Guacamole, and standout dishes such as Pozole, Roasted Pork Shoulder tacos for two, and the indulgent “Whole Roasted Pig Out” brunch feast.
The Gilbert location was designed by architectural duo Mendil + Meyer, whose work also includes The Mission Kierland and Fat Ox. The space features a lighter, enclosed front dining area designed to evoke an outdoor patio feel, while the main dining room and bar lean darker and more dramatic, reminiscent of The Mission Old Town. Highlights include a striking bar with seating for 20, two high-top community tables ideal for group dining, and a private dining room accommodating 35–40 guests with full audiovisual capabilities for celebrations and business events.
The Mission’s renowned beverage program will also be on full display, showcasing an agave-centric cocktail menu centered around tequila and mezcal, alongside craft cocktails and a thoughtfully curated wine selection. Over time, the culinary team plans to introduce additional menu offerings unique to the Gilbert location, continuing the restaurant’s tradition of evolving while staying true to its roots.
“We’re beyond thrilled to finally open our doors in the East Valley with our very first Gilbert location,” said Chef Matt Carter “This has been a long time coming, and we’ve already felt an incredible amount of excitement and support from the community. We can’t wait to share The Mission experience with guests and create a space where people can come together and celebrate.”
The opening marks another milestone for Chef Carter and partner Brian Raab, whose growing portfolio also includes Fat Ox and Zinc Bistro. With its January 16 debut, The Mission Gilbert invites East Valley diners to experience modern Latin cuisine in a space designed for connection, celebration, and unforgettable meals.
