Architects Rebrand, Enhancing ‘Tenacious Work Ethic’ to Expand Firm

Upward Architects

Architects Justin Gregonis and Trish Flower have rebranded themselves as Upward Architects.

Gregonis and Flower, both accomplished, experienced architects in the Valley, will lead the Upward Architects office and continue to provide industry-leading architectural, planning and design services, specializing in office, retail, industrial, corporate interiors, and tenant improvement projects.

“We are looking forward to this exciting new chapter for our firm, but for our valued clients, they can expect the same tenacious work ethic that has been our calling card,” said Gregonis. “Our relationships with our clients are our foundation and we can’t wait to continue our strong partnerships with current clients as well as create new connections in the market through our superior product and service.”

The Upward Architects team has been behind several noteworthy projects in Arizona, covering a wide spectrum of product types. Notable projects include the Crossing at Sahuarita, which was a 2018 Best of NAIOP Winner for Retail Project of the Year; the Irgens 17300 Office Building and Copper Hills Church addition.

Upward Architects’ partners, Gregonis and Flower, have established a reputation as design experts that work hard to establish strong relationships with the client. They have a track record of delivering exceptional design and detail and are responsive to the needs of the client from the beginning of development all the way through construction.

“I really feel that Justin and I complement each other’s strengths and experience, and that makes Upward Architects a unique firm,” said Flower. “We are both driven to exceed expectations and deliver projects that are above the status quo.”

Gregonis has been in the role of Owner of his firm for the past seven years. He began his professional career in the Valley as a designer for Butler Design Group. He has also held the roles of project architect and design director before taking on his current role. Gregonis earned his Masters of Architecture from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and is a member of the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, self-certified with the City of Phoenix and is a LEED Green Associate.

Flower has worked alongside Gregonis for the past six years as Project Architect and Partner. She is a Valley native, graduating from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Design, Architecture and Business. Flower has a well-rounded resume, with work as a project manager for firms like J.T. Nakaoka Associates in Los Angeles, KDRA and Deutsch Architecture Group. She was also the VP of Retail Services for KDRA for eight years and the Associate Vice President for Nadel Architects for five years before serving as the Associate Director of Architecture for Fitch in Scottsdale for three years.

Upward Architects’ staff of 8 includes highly experienced architects, project managers, and drafters.  They will be located at 1155 W Rio Salado Pkwy, Suite B101, Tempe, AZ 85281 and expect to take occupancy of their new space in June.

Upward Architects is a full-service architectural, planning and design firm based in Tempe, Ariz., offering comprehensive services to our clients in the Southwest. With a focus centered around client service, our philosophy is that good design should occur on any budget. We engage our creativity, construction knowledge and collaborate with contractors to ensure innovative design solutions are delivered.
