The Phoenix Street Transportation Department will expand operation of its Shared Micromobility Program to 24 hours a day, seven days a week effective at midnight on Friday, March 1. The program currently operates daily from 5 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. The 24/7 schedule of operation will be done as a six-month pilot program, during which usage data and other metrics will be reviewed.
Launched permanently in January 2023 with vendors Lime and Spin, the program includes the shared rental use of e-scooters, e-bikes, traditional pedal bikes and adaptive bikes. The program currently operates in the city’s downtown core, as well as areas to the south, west and east of downtown.

During the 24/7 pilot program, customers using the vehicles between 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. will be required to take a late-night rider reaction test available through each respective vendor’s app.
Various vendors have operated e-scooters in downtown Phoenix since September 2019 as part of a city-managed pilot program. In December 2022, City Council authorized the Street Transportation Department to finalize an agreement with Lime and Spin to be the official vendors when the pilot program ended. The permanent program began in January 2023.
