At-large members elected to the MAG Regional Council Executive Committee include:
- Mayor Kate Gallego, City of Phoenix
- Mayor Mark Freeman, City of Mesa
- Mayor Jerry Weiers, City of Glendale
- The MAG Regional Council is a 32-member board that serves as the governing and policy-making body for MAG.
“My focus in the year ahead will be to build on the foundation we’ve laid to ensure that Proposition 479’s promise becomes a visible reality across our vast region,” said Chair Hermosillo.
“We will continue to take bold steps to address homelessness, support housing accessibility, and advance visionary initiatives like Rio Reimagined. Environmental resilience will remain a top priority. We will champion innovative, science-driven strategies to advance clean air and public health in the region and continue to lead by example through strong partnerships not just in Arizona, but the Intermountain West,” noted Hermosillo.
Glendale Mayor Jerry Weiers was elected Chair of the Transportation Policy Committee, with Phoenix Mayor Kate Gallego elected as Vice Chair. Gilbert Town Manager Patrick Banger was elected Chair of the MAG Management Committee, with Tolleson City Manager Reyes Medrano elected as Vice Chair.
All MAG officers will serve a one-year term.
