Arizona Association for Economic Development

“Small Investment Big Impact” will be the topic at the Arizona Association for Economic Development’s inaugural Marketing Symposium. The event will be held virtually on May 26 and 27 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

The two-day symposium will cover aspects of marketing and communications for both communities and businesses and will show how municipalities have been able to leverage their marketing budget to make sustainable impacts. Attendees will learn the best practices in digital marketing, working with the media, building a brand and leveraging online presence, and marketing downtown areas. There will also be a session lead by Quarles & Brady attorney Heather Buchta, covering any legal issues that may arise for online marketers.

Other speakers include LaTricia Woods, founder of Mahogany Xan Communications; Abbie S. Fink, vice president/general manager of HMA Public Relations; Natalie Wilson, creative director of Neon Cloud Productions; Thomas Barr, executive director of Local First Arizona, Deirdre Booth-Gilmore, president of TankGirl Marketing; and Barbra Coffee, director of economic initiatives with the City of Tucson.

The cost of the symposium is $100 for the general public and $150 for Academy students. To receive Academy credit, students must attend all four general sessions, four breakout sessions and pay the $150 registration fee.
