Cox Communications has become the first Arizona Public Service Co. (APS) telecommunications business customer in APS’s Green Power Partners Program (GPP). By purchasing solar renewable energy from the Green Power Partners Program, Cox will vastly decrease reliance on fossil fuels, achieving 100% renewable supply for all our Cox facilities served by APS across Arizona.
This partnership will contribute to the company’s Cox Conserves goals of sustainability and carbon neutrality in Arizona. Specific Cox Conserves goals call for zero waste to landfill by 2024, to be carbon and water neutral by 2034, while investing more than $100 million in sustainability and conservation projects. Over the past decade we’ve made meaningful progress in our journey to become a more sustainable company by achieving zero waste to landfill status in 2022, two years ahead of our target. This was primarily achieved by our employees reducing, reusing, refurbishing, and recycling resources in the workplace. And to date we have saved more than 299 million gallons of water since 2013, all while investing more than $100 million in local and national conservation projects.

This is another giant step forward towards Cox’s ambitious and achievable sustainability goals,” said Susan Anable, Cox Phoenix vice president and market leader. “As part of our commitment to the principals of Cox Conserves, we also support the work of so many local conservation and sustainability nonprofits such as the Nature Conservancy, McDowell Sonoran Conservancy, Arizona Sustainability Alliance and the OdySea Aquarium’s Conserving AZ Waters exhibit. Recently, we invested more than $250,000 for the upcoming installation of solar panels and carbon/solar educational programming at the Rosenzweig Boys & Girls Clubs of the Valley branch in Phoenix.”
