Veteran real estate leader Steve Lindley has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Holualoa Companies, as previous COO Stanton Shafer transitions to a Senior Advisor role as a step toward retirement.
Lindley will be engaged in all facets of the company’s operations, including the management of the portfolio of national and international properties and working with company leadership in sourcing and capitalizing acquisitions and development.
Lindley is an industry veteran with more than 30 years of experience in commercial real estate. He most recently served as Executive Managing Director in the Capital Markets group for Cushman & Wakefield, advising sophisticated national and regional investor clients in the acquisition, disposition, financing, and development of office, industrial and mixed-use properties.

Lindley will be replacing Shafer, who will be remaining with Holualoa as Senior Advisor as a step toward retirement after over 45 years in the real estate industry, 13 of which were in his role as Chief Operating Officer for Holualoa.
Lindley is active in industry and community leadership in Arizona and nationally. He is the incoming Chair of Urban Land Institute Arizona, a member of ULI’s national Placemaking Council, and an active mentor to young future industry leaders through ULI Arizona’s Partnership Forum.
Lindley enjoys actively exploring and promoting ideas and issues facing communities in Arizona and beyond, including the intersection between creativity and place. He is on the board for arts non-profit Artlink, served as the chair of the ULI 2D community mural project, and frequently presents on the future of the workplace, creative placemaking, arts, culture and development.

Prior to Cushman & Wakefield, Steve worked in the Capital Markets groups for national commercial real estate services companies including Grubb & Ellis, Trammell Crow, and Insignia/ESG. He brings Wall Street experience to his real estate practice, working at the New York City headquarters of investment bank Drexel Burnham Lambert.
