Soleil is the first residential townhome development from architect developers John Labahn of Lab Design Collaborative and Chicago-based architect, Erik Johnson. Labahn, who designed the Ocotillo restaurant just up the street, has a special passion for the 3rd Street corridor. He was a champion of the 3rd Street Improvement Project in 2021-2022, working closely with the City of Phoenix to beautify the area with 150 trees, shade structures, crosswalks, and bike lanes.

Johnson says he and Labahn were inspired by noted 1920s European architect Le Corbusier and his Parisian townhomes. “Our design emulates many of the characteristics associated with Le Corbusier’s style of architecture, known as Early Modern. Long horizontal ‘ribbon windows’ maximize light and views, rooftop terraces create functional outdoor living space, and smooth geometric shapes create a minimal modern aesthetic.”
In addition to clean modern design, energy efficiency is also paramount. Soleil townhomes offer light and bright interiors with “brise-soleil” — an architectural feature that deflects sunlight and reduces heat within the home. Other sustainable features include independently operated A/C units on each level, EV-capable garages, and native desert landscaping.
