Tri Pointe Homes® Arizona, a recognized leader serving the Phoenix market for over 30 years under the name Maracay®, has announced the acquisition of land to develop approximately 175 new homes in the Abel Ranch planned community located in the West Valley suburb of Goodyear. The $8.75 million land investment marks the second phase of development within the existing planned community, reinforcing Tri Pointe Homes’ commitment to bringing innovative homes with life-changing design to premium locations where homebuyers desire to live.
“Abel Ranch presents an exciting opportunity for Tri Pointe Homes to increase our presence in the West Valley and bring new homes to Goodyear, the third fastest growing city in the nation over the past 5 years1,” said Tri Pointe Homes Arizona Division President James Attwood. “With this development, we aim to cater to the increasing demand for high-quality housing in a community supported by diverse lifestyle offerings, natural wonders, and city conveniences. We’re confident about delivering a neighborhood that reflects the area’s growth and inspires modern homeowners to create vibrant, lasting memories.”
Tri Pointe Homes intends to develop its own homesites within the community, taking full advantage of the site’s strategic location at the northeast corner of Indian School and Citrus. Amenities anticipated for the development include a basketball court, trails, soccer field, play structures, BBQs, and ramadas — all designed specifically to elevate the living experience of residents. The proximity to the White Tank Mountains, sand dunes, Cactus League, and other professional sporting events including NASCAR and NFL add to the appeal of this emerging community.
“Investing in Abel Ranch aligns perfectly with our strategy of choosing locations that provide exceptional living options and show promise for long-term growth,” said Attwood. “We are optimistic about the prospects of Abel Ranch as well as our ability to deliver innovative housing product that appeals to homebuyers and distinguishes itself in the competitive Phoenix market.”
The seller, Meritage Homes of Arizona, Inc., is completing crucial infrastructure works including offsite and spine road constructions, paving the way for Tri Pointe Homes to commence onsite improvements. Tri Pointe anticipates opening phase two of Abel Ranch for sales in late 2025.
