Dominium, a leading national affordable housing owner, developer and manager, is holding grand openings for 857 units in Goodyear and Marana. Local and state elected officials joined in the festivities for Estrella Springs, 396 units of affordable apartment homes for families, and the adjacent Suncrest Vista, 261 units of affordable senior apartment homes, in Goodyear on November 12. Elected officials will hold a grand opening for The Safford, 200 units of affordable apartment homes for families in Marana, on November 13.
“With rents in Phoenix more than doubling over the past five years, Arizona has a significant need for affordable housing,” said Owen Metz, Dominium’s Senior Vice President and Mountain West Development Leader. “Tenant demand in Estrella Springs, Suncrest Vista and The Safford has been strong. People want affordable housing and high-quality amenities. Dominium builds properties that meet the needs of the community and the desires of renters.”
Leasing interest has been strong at the 492,000-square-foot Estrella Springs and the 247,000-square-foot Suncrest Vista, 16895 W. Van Buren St. in Goodyear.
Estrella Springs offers 12 one-bedroom, 192 two-bedroom and 192 three-bedroom units. The property features picnic and grilling areas, clubhouse with lounge, swimming pool, fitness center, play areas, and business center and internet café. The apartments feature a patio or balcony, full equipped kitchens with granite countertops, walk-in closets, and spacious floor plans. Rent starts at $1178 a month.
Suncrest Vista offers 76 one-bedroom, 153 two-bedroom and 32 three-bedroom units. Amenities include a fitness center and yoga studio, library, poolside cabanas, beauty salon, theater room, and a community garden. The apartments feature a patio or balcony, walk-in closets, and full-size kitchens with granite countertops. Rent starts at $994 a month.
The properties were constructed by W.D. Construction, a joint venture between Weis Builders and Dominium Construction and Architectural Services.
The Safford, 8740 N. Silverbell Road in Marana, is already 100% leased. The 126,493-square-foot complex offers 108 two-bedrooms, 72 three-bedrooms and 20 four-bedroom apartments.
The Safford’s amenities include a game room, indoor and outdoor play areas, pet wash station, swimming pool, outdoor grilling stations, fitness center, and dog park. The apartments feature kitchen islands, linen closets, kitchen pantries, large walk-in closets, and granite countertops. Rents start as low as $1,138. The property was constructed by WD Construction. The architect was Todd & Associates.
To qualify for the housing, residents must earn less than 60% of the area median income.
