The strength of our business community has always been measured by more than growth alone. It is measured by opportunity, innovation and the ability of businesses of all sizes to access the resources they need to succeed. As Greater Phoenix continues to evolve as one of the nation’s most dynamic business markets, the movement of capital, where it comes from, where it goes and who has access to it has never been more important.
This month’s cover story, “Capital in Motion,” takes a closer look at the financial forces shaping our economy and the opportunities and challenges facing businesses seeking to grow. Whether financing expansion, investing in innovation or simply managing the day-to-day demands of running a company, access to capital remains fundamental to business success. Understanding how that capital moves and the decisions driving investment is essential to making informed choices about our own businesses and their futures.
Beyond these features, this November issue examines the many ways Arizona businesses are adapting to changing markets and new opportunities. From the evolving needs of our workforce and the challenges facing founder-led businesses to advances in technology, commercial real estate and healthcare, our editorial focus remains on delivering information that business leaders can put to work. We believe that informed business leaders build stronger companies and, ultimately, a stronger community.
We also have some exciting news to share about the future of In Business Magazine. Between now and the end of the year, we will debut our new website — a more robust, easier-to-navigate platform with an enhanced, user-friendly interface designed to provide even greater value to our readers and subscribers.
We are also thrilled to announce the expansion of our brand with the launch of Denver In Business Magazine in January 2027, with our first issue publishing in May. Denver’s growing and empowered business community is an exciting new market for our in-depth, informative approach to covering the people, ideas and opportunities that drive business growth. Stay tuned for much more on this …
Here in Greater Phoenix, we are expanding our events and introducing a new In Business Member portal, offering exclusive access to business events, valuable benefits, discounts on services, and experiences designed to not only help our readers grow their businesses but also to enrich their lives. These initiatives represent our continued commitment to connecting, informing and empowering the business communities we serve.
It is especially fitting that this issue also includes our annual special section, “2027 Excellence in Banking Profiles & Lending Guide.” We have developed this comprehensive resource to help business owners and decision-makers better understand the financial institutions, banking professionals, lending products and services available to them.
As we approach the close of 2026, I am reminded of the extraordinary people who have contributed to the success of In Business Magazine since our founding in 2010. This month, we remember Rick Marsh, husband of our editor in chief, RaeAnne Marsh, and a longtime supporter, thinker and contributor to our publication, who passed away this past month. Rick believed deeply in our mission and never hesitated to offer his honest opinions and thoughtful criticisms — always with the intention of making us better. And he did. His dedication, insight and unwavering support helped make In Business Magazine the publication it is today. We will miss him dearly and remain grateful for the lasting mark he left on all of us.
Please enjoy this issue of In Business Magazine. We take pride in knowing we are serving this community and hope to continue to hear from you with feedback and letting us know what more we can be doing as we grow to better serve Greater Phoenix and Arizona.
Sincerely,
Rick McCartney
