SRP has named 14 local businesses Champions of Sustainability for outstanding achievements in electrification, energy efficiency and clean energy through participation in SRP’s Business Solutions Program. The awardees were recognized today at the 10th Annual Champions of Sustainability Awards luncheon held at the Arizona Biltmore.

SRP’s Business Solutions Program provides business of all sizes with technical expertise and thousands of dollars in incentives to make facility improvements, upgrade equipment and install tools and systems that help reduce energy use and increase energy savings.

“SRP is proud to partner with our commercial customers to help them achieve their sustainability goals through energy efficiency and electrification,” said Rudy Navarro, SRP interim associate general manager and chief customer executive. “These sustainability efforts not only benefit the business, but their customers and the greater Phoenix community as well.”

In total, SRP commercial energy efficiency programs have saved customers nearly 1.3 million megawatt hours of electricity, which is enough energy to power more than 78,000 single-family homes for a year.

The energy savings earned through the Business Solutions Program also support SRP’s 2035 Sustainability Goals related to energy efficiency, demand response, transportation electrification and customer technologies.
