Arizona’s second largest private water provider celebrates 70 years of delivering exceptional service to communities across Arizona, a testament to AWC’s dedicated employees, valued customers, and appreciated vendors and contractors who have supported the company over the years.
Since its beginnings in 1955, Arizona Water Company has proudly provided safe and reliable water service to Arizonans through award-winning customer service and water distribution. Over the past 7 decades, AWC has grown from operating 10 water systems to today, where the company currently operates 24 water systems in more than 30 communities throughout Arizona. AWC has also grown from just 50 employees in 1955 to 282 today, with our longest-serving employee assisting our customers for more than 45 years. The company has been honored with numerous awards throughout its history including ‘Project of the Year’ awards by the American Society of Civil Engineers for “demonstrating excellence in civil engineering to deliver infrastructure to improve our communities and quality of life.”
Community values are what drives AWC, and the Company prides itself in maintaining and operating 12 local offices in the communities it serves.
“This is something that makes Arizona Water Company truly unique from other utilities,” said Fred Schneider, the company’s president. “AWC employees are your neighbors, and the Company is proud to be part of your community.”
The company operates water systems throughout the state of Arizona, including systems in Ajo, Apache Junction, Arizona City, Bisbee, Buckeye, Casa Grande, Coolidge, Lakeside, Miami, Oracle, Overgaard, Mund’s Park, Rimrock, San Manuel, Sedona, Sierra Vista, Stanfield, Superior, and Winkelman.
Arizona Water Company plans to make this anniversary a special one by celebrating together and sharing our gratitude with our customers and guests. Throughout the month of April 2025, AWC will hold open houses and provide gift items in each of the communities we serve. Customers are invited to stop by their local office to receive their celebratory gift.
“Arizona Water Company has grown thoughtfully and strategically to become the second largest water company in the state,” added Schneider. “We plan to continue growing, and providing exceptional, award-winning water services to even more residents in the years to come.”
