PrismHR, the HR technology software innovator for service providers across the U.S., announced the appointment of Sami Mian, Ph.D., to Chief AI Officer. In this role, Dr. Mian will continue to lead the company’s rapidly growing portfolio of artificial intelligence initiatives, overseeing AI strategy, governance, education, and AI enterprise deployment, including initiatives designed to advance intelligent capabilities across PrismHR’s technology ecosystem.
Dr. Mian joined PrismHR in 2024 and most recently served as Executive Vice President of Innovation & AI, and Distinguished Engineer. Over the past 18 months, he has architected the company’s AI foundation, launched core AI capabilities, accelerated innovation across business units, and helped establish a comprehensive governance framework for the PEO and HR technology industry.

With more than a decade of experience building and scaling AI systems, Dr. Mian has led advanced R&D teams at companies like Amazon Robotics, Microsoft Research, and NASA, while also co-founding and advising multiple technology startups spanning AI, robotics, medtech, energy, and autonomous systems. He has co-authored more than 20 U.S. and international patents and publications, and holds a teaching appointment at Arizona State University, where he is helping build graduate AI programs and mentor doctoral students.
A sought-after speaker and AI thought leader, Dr. Mian frequently presents at national industry, engineering, and technology conferences, and serves on several advisory boards, including the Professional Administrative Co-Employers (PACE), where he advises organizations on AI policy, strategy, governance, and innovation initiatives.
The appointment reflects PrismHR’s commitment to helping Professional Employer Organizations (PEOs), Administrative Service Organizations (ASOs), payroll service providers, and other HR service providers apply AI responsibly to simplify complex work, improve decision-making, and deliver greater value to their clients.
