Smart Fit Method will open its first Arizona location combining health assessments, personalized coaching, fitness training, and recovery services. The 3,500-square-foot studio will open Nov. 15 at 11260 N. Tatum Blvd. in Paradise Valley and is designed to help members improve strength, mobility, and overall well-being.
Smart Fit Method was founded in 2021 by father-and-son team Rob and Connor Darnbrough after Rob, a lifelong competitive athlete, was diagnosed with an aortic aneurysm at age 49. The diagnosis prompted the pair to rethink the traditional approach to fitness and develop a model that connects training and recovery with long-term health.
“Most fitness programs focus on exercise. We focus on what exercise is supposed to help people do,” said Connor Darnbrough, co-founder and CEO of Smart Fit Method. “Whether that’s staying active as you age, keeping up with your family, recovering faster, or maintaining your independence, our goal is to help people build a healthier future, not simply complete another workout.”
The Paradise Valley location will offer Method+, Smart Fit Method’s premier membership, which combines personalized coaching, strength and performance training, advanced technology, and recovery services. Every member begins with a comprehensive assessment that evaluates health, fitness, and performance through body composition analysis, VO₂ max testing, movement and balance assessments, metabolic testing, and blood work. The results are used to create a personalized plan tailored to each member’s goals, lifestyle, and needs, including guidance on nutrition, sleep, and supplementation.
Members train one-on-one with coaches using adaptive resistance strength training, AI-guided cycling, and performance technologies including OxeFit, Vasper and LivO₂. The facility also includes a dedicated recovery area with multiple cold plunges at varying temperatures, a 15-person sauna, multimodal light therapy, vagus nerve stimulation, hydrogen therapy, BrainTap and compression boots, along with men’s and women’s locker rooms.
To celebrate its Arizona debut, Smart Fit Method is offering a limited Founders Club membership to the first 100 members. Founders Club members will receive preferred pricing on Method+ and waived annual dues.
The Paradise Valley studio is the first of two Smart Fit Method locations planned for the Valley. The second will be located at 7400 E. McDonald Dr. in Scottsdale, with details to be announced at a later date.
Smart Fit Method currently operates locations across California and Utah, serving professionals, active adults, athletes, and others seeking a personalized approach to fitness, recovery, and healthy aging.
