Cien Agaves Tacos & Tequila, the award-winning and legendary Scottsdale dining destination known for its scratch-made Mexican cuisine, handcrafted margaritas, and extensive collection of 100 hand-selected premium agave spirits, is expanding with the opening of its second Arizona location in Chandler. Located at 900 N. 54th St., Suite 1, at 54th Street and West Ray Road, the new restaurant will officially open on Wednesday, August 5, with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 4 p.m.
Brought to you by Backbar Hospitality Management, whose portfolio also includes Nello’s Pizzeria and Italian Kitchen and Ghost Ranch Modern Southwest Cuisine, the new 5,000- square-foot Cien Agaves Chandler will welcome up to 300 guests, with seating for 250 indoors and an additional 50 guests across two spacious outdoor patios. Designed to capture the vibrant energy and elevated yet approachable dining experience that has made the original Old Town Scottsdale location a local favorite since opening in 2007, the new restaurant will feature the same scratch-made menu, handcrafted cocktails, and thoughtfully curated selection of premium tequilas and mezcals, led by Executive Chef Memo Bracamonte.
“Inspired by our travels through Tequila, Jalisco, and visits to some of the region’s incredible distilleries, my business partner and co-founder, Bob Schulken and I created a space that celebrates the traditions of agave culture while embracing a fresh contemporary Mexican aesthetic,” said Roque Jimenez, co-founder and owner of Cien Agaves. “As long-time residents of the Ahwatukee and Chandler communities, we could not be more excited to bring an elevated Cien Agaves experience to Chandler and share our passion for authentic Mexican food, tequila, and genuine hospitality with the entire East Valley community.”
A hallmark of the Cien Agaves experience is its celebrated 100% Agave spirits program, featuring more than 100 premium tequilas and mezcals from both iconic heritage distilleries and exceptional small-batch producers. The carefully curated collection offers guests the opportunity to explore the craftsmanship, history, and regional diversity behind Mexico’s most celebrated spirits.
The Chandler location will also feature the restaurant’s popular Happy Hour daily from 3–6 p.m., offering $7 Cien-A-Ritas, half-off appetizers, $3 Tinga Tacos, $5 Modelo Especial and Negra Modelo beers, and $2 off all wines by the glass. Guests can also enjoy Taco Tuesday featuring $4 Tecate beers, $3 Chicken Tinga, Barbacoa, and Diabla Shrimp tacos, and $7 Pineapple Infused Tequila shots available all day.
New signature menu items that will be available at both locations include the Tampiqueña, featuring grilled arrachera steak, poblano rajas, a cheese enchilada, fresh guacamole, Mexican rice, and refried beans, as well as the Sea Bass Tacos, prepared with pan-seared Mexican sea bass, crisp citrus slaw, avocado salsa, and pickled red onions for a fresh, elevated take on coastal Mexican cuisine.
Guests at the Chandler location will also experience vibrant artwork by renowned Mexican artist El Moises (@artiselmoises). His colorful, contemporary pieces celebrate Mexico’s rich artistic heritage while adding warmth, authenticity, and character throughout the restaurant.
