Better Business Bureau is expanding its programs, services, and resources for businesses and consumers through the strategic merger of BBB Mountain West and BBB Pacific Southwest, which have united to form BBB Mountain West & Pacific Southwest.

The newly united nonprofit organization will serve nearly 25 million residents and support nearly 29,000 BBB Accredited Businesses across Arizona, California, Nevada, and Utah.

The expansion builds upon the trusted core BBB services while introducing additional business growth resources, educational programming, and marketplace expertise. By bringing together experienced teams, proven programs, and decades of trusted local relationships, BBB is creating greater value for businesses, consumers, and communities alike.

Matthew Fehling, President and CEO of the newly unified Better Business Bureau, said the merger reflects the organization’s long-term commitment to delivering even greater value to the communities it serves.

“This merger represents an exciting opportunity to build on the strong foundation both organizations have established while expanding the value we deliver to businesses and consumers,” said Matthew Fehling, President and CEO.

“Our previous successful mergers have demonstrated that bringing organizations together is about becoming better equipped to serve businesses and communities, not just growth in size or footprint. By uniting talented teams, shared values, trusted local relationships, and expanded resources, we’re creating an even stronger organization that enhances collaboration, fosters an exceptional culture, and ultimately delivers greater value to the businesses, consumers, and communities we serve.”

Businesses throughout Northern Nevada and Utah will gain access to BBB PacSW’s expanded portfolio of business growth resources, including the BBB Breakthrough Accelerator, ignite sparked by BBB innovation and event spaces, BBB4Good social responsibility trustmark, educational summits, leadership programming, and learning opportunities. These proven programs help businesses strengthen their operations, build trust, grow responsibly, and create lasting impact. Consumer education resources and trusted BBB services will also expand throughout the region, providing even greater support to the marketplace as a whole.

Bringing together a broader portfolio of established programs and resources creates new opportunities to amplify the impact of BBB’s work across all four states. Examples include:

  • Business Growth & Education – Programs such as the BBB Breakthrough Accelerator, Growth Surge Bootcamp, Industrious Women’s Summit, and leadership development opportunities designed to help businesses grow, strengthen operations, and build lasting success.
  • Business Tools & Benefits – Resources available through BBB-Accreditation, including BBB Toolbox, an all-in-one business management platform, along with exclusive discounts and value-added member benefits that help businesses operate more efficiently.
  • Recognition & Community Impact – Signature programs such as the Torch Awards for Ethics, BBB’s premier recognition of businesses that demonstrate exceptional integrity and trust, along with student scholarships and community initiatives that promote ethical leadership and strengthen the next generation of business leaders.

Looking ahead, BBB will continue evaluating opportunities to broaden its successful campus model as the organization grows. Guided by community needs and long-term strategic planning, future campuses will create additional opportunities for businesses to access trusted resources, educational programming, networking, and collaborative workspaces.

Already thriving across Arizona and California, eight BBB campuses have become more than office locations as they serve as community hubs where businesses connect, learn, and grow. As the organization continues to evolve, this model represents one of many ways BBB can intentionally expand its impact while remaining responsive to the needs of the communities it serves.

Jane Rupp, former President and CEO of BBB Mountain West, said the expanded organization creates new opportunities to strengthen support for businesses throughout Nevada and Utah.

“As a direct result of this merger, BBB will be able to expand our programs, services, and long-term impact,” Rupp said.

“For years, our partner organization has been recognized for going beyond traditional BBB services by developing innovative programs that help businesses launch, grow, and lead with integrity. We’re excited to bring these additional resources to businesses throughout Nevada and Utah.”

While BBB is expanding its reach and resources, its purpose remains unchanged: helping businesses earn trust, helping consumers make informed decisions, and strengthening communities through ethical leadership. By combining proven programs, local expertise, and a shared commitment to integrity, the organization is well-positioned to serve the next generation of businesses and consumers.
