Success Property Brokers, based in Scottsdale, Arizona, announced that it has been acquired by Preston Porter, broker/owner of Porter Realty ERA Powered, based in Alamosa, Colorado. The Scottsdale-based firm will now operate as Success Property Brokers ERA Powered, leveraging the ERA® network to support its next phase of growth. The company will continue serving the greater Phoenix metropolitan area with approximately 90 affiliated sales associates and offices in Scottsdale and Peoria.
This acquisition underscores the ERA brand’s continued growth strategy and flexible expansion model, which enables entrepreneurial broker/owners to expand into new markets while maintaining strong local operations and leadership.
Founded in 2011, Success Property Brokers has built a strong reputation as an agent-first brokerage focused on independence, flexibility, and entrepreneurial support. Under its new ownership, the brokerage will continue operating as a locally led business serving the greater Phoenix metropolitan area, now enhanced by the ERA brand’s tools, marketing resources and referral network.
Byron Short, the company’s former owner, who brings nearly two decades of brokerage leadership experience, will remain actively involved with the brokerage as designated broker and transition advisor, ensuring continuity for affiliated agents, clients, and day-to-day operations.
“This next chapter is about continuity first,” said Short. “Our agents value independence, flexibility and a practical, agent-focused culture, and becoming ERA Powered allows us to preserve what works while adding the tools, credibility and support to drive long-term growth. As I look ahead to transitioning into a more advisory, production-focused role, it also ensures this is the kind of company I’ll be proud to be part of.”
Porter, who affiliated with ERA Real Estate in 2025, said the ERA brand’s technology, infrastructure and referral network were key factors in pursuing growth beyond his existing market.
“The ERA brand provided the platform, support and network that gave me the confidence to pursue an opportunity like this,” said Porter. “This approach allows us to grow thoughtfully, expanding into a new market while preserving what makes this brokerage successful at the local level.”
The Phoenix metro area continues to be one of the country’s most dynamic real estate markets, driven by population growth, employment opportunities, retirement migration, lifestyle relocation, new construction, and year-round housing demand across a wide range of price points. Success Property Brokers ERA Powered will continue serving clients across Phoenix, Scottsdale, Peoria, Glendale, Surprise, Goodyear, and surrounding Maricopa County communities.
Success Property Brokers ERA Powered will combine the accessibility and flexibility of an independent brokerage with the tools, brand, referral network, and national support of the ERA brand. The goal is to offer affiliated agents a high-value alternative: more support and credibility than a bare-bones low-fee brokerage, while remaining more entrepreneurial and agent-friendly than many traditional split-based firms. In addition to supporting its agents and clients, Success Property Brokers ERA Powered will continue its commitment to the local community, including its support of Trevor’s Vision and CancerResearch.org.
“Success Property Brokers has built a strong agent-first culture, a meaningful presence in the Phoenix market, and a business model that aligns with my belief that agents want independence, transparency and support without unnecessary bureaucracy,” said Porter. “I was attracted to the opportunity to preserve what has made the brokerage successful while pairing it with the broader resources, brand recognition, referral network and support platform of the ERA brand. Our immediate focus is a smooth ownership transition, agent retention, continuity of service and thoughtful integration into the ERA Powered platform. Longer term, the goal is to grow the brokerage, recruit aligned agents, strengthen systems and support, and build a stronger Phoenix-area platform with local leadership and national backing.”
